I purchased this item in October 2008 but never tried it until recently. It was defective. The red/green tuning lights did not come on and only 2 frequencies sounded. I took it to a music store who pointed out that the Viet Nam sticker was not on their stock tuners.
I tried to return it but the return time window had expired.
I would give it no stars if that were possible.

To make it short and simple, it’s a handy tool for someone just starting out learning the basics. Very compact and sensative so make sure there is no noise while using it. You need to tinker with it to get the notes right on. Goes flat to sharp and even but be patient. I’d reccomend it to anyone at this amazingly low price.

I jsut bought my first guitar (It’s my first instrument!). Being somewhat musically DEclined, I need all the help I can get. So, I bought the TM-40 which is a tuner AND a metronome, all-in-one for $20. At 4.5 in. x 3 in. x 5/8″, compact it ain’t but it’s got a kickstand and does some tricky rhythm stuff too like tempo and beat. Got a capo and cool strap with flames on it too. Soon I’ll be channeling Buddy Holley and autographing my picture on the cover of Rolling Stone. Wish me luck!
